The answer, of course, is nothing! Gender doesn’t affect your ability to draw, write, do long division, run a marathon or be president.

 

Sure, there are measurable differences between boys and girls, but researchers believe that may be a result of reinforced stereotypes. I personally believe that even though men and women are wonderfully different, our abilities are ultimately the same. And though I’m really lucky to have grown up in a generation where I was never told that being a girl made me less able, I still feel like I was encouraged down a different path than I would have chosen for myself.
